Meet the team!

Introducing Alex Vanstan

Project Management Consultant

Alex is one of MetaPM’s gun project management consultants who has been with us since January 2019. Alex joined us through our relationship with Soldier On, which is a company that helps service personnel and their families build successful futures. This was following his medical discharge from the Australian Army as a result of injuries he sustained whilst deployed in Afghanistan on war-like service. Bringing a wealth of experience from his time as a Commissioned Officer with the Australian Army, Alex has made an impact with every project he has worked on. So far this year he has worked with the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority, the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Melbourne University and Barwon Water.

What does he love about being a project management consultant? The ability to lead and own projects, influence decisions, manage and interact with various stakeholders and gaining vast experience within numerous environments. A friendly bloke, Alex is always making friends wherever he is working.

One of the most rewarding projects Alex worked on was with the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority. As the Project Manager for a suite of Medical Indemnity Projects, he facilitated the implementation of numerous projects all aimed at reducing the risk of patient harm and improving patient safety across the Victorian Public Health Care System. Alex enjoyed working on a project with a net social benefit where his skills were utilised to directly help to better the community.

We asked Alex what he enjoys about working at MetaPM and he explained, “The diverse range of experiences you can have, working with great clients, professional development opportunities and the office culture.” Thanks Alex – we agree!

When he’s not project managing you can find Alex reapplying his favourite scent- Old Spice or barracking for his footy team- the Richmond Tigers. He always finds time to give back, and currently volunteers for the Australian Student Veterans Association, and is heavily involved with his local Returned Services League.
