Welcome to the MetaPM August Newsletter

According to Standish Group study of over 175,000 IT projects, 89% run over budget or over schedule; Average cost overrun 88%, average time overrun 222% and 31% cancelled before completion. Typical Executive complaints about projects were:


       • Project ROI is poor or no measure of ROI
       • Most projects finish later than their original target date
       • Constant fight over resources
       • Project information is misleading or non-existent
       • Too much rework
       • The people have too much to do

Establishing and maintaining a Project Management Office (PMO) is often seen as important step to addressing these problems.
